Stranger than Fiction?

In my newest release, Rule Breaker, in order for attorney Danielle Stratton to gain access before age 35 to the full inheritance left to her by her grandfather, she must marry. Tired of being controlled by her family, she sets her sights on childhood friend/enemy Jason Moran to play the part of husband to satisfy the ridiculous requirement so that she can get her money and escape her family’s grasp.

Crazy situation, right? Setting a marriage requirement to gain access to an inheritance? Must only happen in fiction? Not so fast. In 2015, a wealthy Manhattan landlord passed away and left money in trust for his daughters, ages 17 and 21. They were to gain full access to the funds at age 35, but they could gain early access if they followed certain rules, including marrying (but not allowing their spouses direct access to the inherited funds), gaining a degree, getting good jobs, and having children (but not out of wedlock – that was a deal-breaker). Their father’s will was his last chance to control the actions of his daughters. Maybe Danielle’s grandfather took a page out his playbook?

Danielle Stratton refuses to take the marriage requirement lying down, and together with Jason she will do what she can to get the money left to her. Does Danielle succeed in breaking her family’s hold on her?  Can she and Jason overcome their tumultuous past to find love? Pick up your copy of Rule Breaker today!
