International Kissing Day
Did you know that July 6 is International Kissing Day?
International Kissing Day, or World Kissing Day, is just as it sounds—a day for recognizing the importance of the intimate and heartwarming act of kissing. And, of course, engaging in the act itself.
Who knew we needed a day for that?
The day was created in 2006, and though it is thought to have been established originally in the UK, it is now observed all over the world.
In addition to the obvious benefits of providing an intimate connection between two people, did you know that kissing has associated health benefits as well, including releasing endorphins that can boost your mood, and burning calories during more passionate kissing? It is even said that kissing increases the production of saliva, which can prevent tooth decay.
Kissing is good for you, mentally and physically!
Of course, you don’t need the calendar tell you when a good day is for a kiss. Every day should be International Kissing Day.
The residents of Aspen Cove know a thing or two about the importance of kissing. You can read about the lip locks of all of the various couples in town in my Aspen Cove Romance series, which you can find here.
Happy celebrating!
